The new owners of this 4,000sf historically registered Society Hill rowhouse, a university history professor and a fine wood craftsman, worked with BluPath to update and improve the house’s layout and function, building envelope and mechanical systems while preserving the historic character inside and out. Restoration work dominated the 1787 main block and the 1800’s rear additon recieved a complete modernization and renovation. The adjacent garden and sideyard was restored with mostly native plants.
BluPath coordinated the zoning, historic and building permit submissions; the project includes roof mounted photovoltaic panels, the first in Society Hill to receive approval from the Philadelphia Historical Commission.
